About Her.
Shannon is a first generation American and citizen of the beautiful caribbean island of Barbados. She is a mother to a fun and funny 6 year old boy who keeps her on her toes! She enjoys being outside in nature, hiking or biking and also relaxing to a good book.

Shannon started her IT journey during her Associates degree with a class in introduction to programming which came natural to her and led her to major in Information Technology and minor in secure computing and networks in my Bachelors at University of Central Florida. After she earned her Bachelors degree, she started as a Network Operations Center (NOC) engineer and quickly excelled into IT Service Management. She earned extensive certifications in ITIL, including ITIL Expert (Managing Professional) and became a practitioner in roles ranging from a technical Change Manager to the Servive Portfolio Manager.

While she earned her MBA at Nova Southeastern Univeristy, she learned how to streamline processes, implement agile development, manage different application platforms, such as, ServiceNow, Apptio, and Moveworks, manage vendor relationships and perform contract negotiation, all while she built and led diverse as well as globally dispersed teams.

Shannon is instrumental in enabling the delivery of IT services to end-users. She collaborates with business owners and IT service owners to implement automation, achieve overall labor cost savings, and enhance the user experience (UX). Her expertise in product owner roles using the SAFe methodology allows her to manage the end-to-end development lifecycle, facilitating a shift from traditional waterfall practices to agile methodologies. Shannon has successfully created, implemented, and streamlined IT service management processes, introducing KPIs that improve the health of IT and increase its value to the business.
Beyond her technical expertise, Shannon is a published author, sharing insights from her experience in leading a 14-person global team remotely. Her published article, "5 Ideas to Build a Cohesive Team and Retain Talent," reflects her success in maintaining the highest-performing agile team within the organization. As a long-standing member of the IT women's organization in South Florida, Shannon dedicates time to mentoring high school students interested in the IT field.
Shannon's leadership extends beyond her professional responsibilities, embodying values of integrity, professionalism, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Her dedication to mentoring and her published works inspire those around her to strive for excellence in all their endeavors.
